COVID-19: Library Services and
Pickens County Information Guide

COVID-19 PCLS Library Plan – Beginning July 1 – Until Further Notice

Due to concerns related to the spread of Covid-19 (Cornonavirus), the safety of the public, and the vulnerable populations we serve, we are working on a modified service plan.

A limited number of library patrons will be allowed in all locations.

All patrons are asked to practice social distancing. We are asking both employees and the public to wear face coverings inside Pickens County facilities at this time. Library staff are required to wear masks when interacting with the public or while in public service areas. Masks are required by town ordinance at the Central-Clemson branch.

Patrons may use computers at any location with a one hour time limit per day.

Central-Clemson Library, Central: 639-2711
Village Library, Pickens: 898-5747
Sarlin Library, Liberty: 843-5805

Faxing, Scanning, and Copying services are available at the all locations.

Items may be checked out and renewed. Holds may be placed and picked up. All items are quarantined for 3 days before recirculating.

Our Wi-Fi remains available 24/7 at all library locations

Regular circulation policies will resume. Holds will expire after five days and overdue materials will incur fines. Fine/fee payments can be made via credit card for totals over $5.  Equipment and Adventure passes as well as all other library materials may be returned via our bookdrops at any library location.

Our focus is to provide as much assistance to the public as possible while adhering to social distancing recommendations and limiting contact. If you have questions about any of our virtual services do not hesitate to contact us at the numbers listed above.

Other steps we are taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19 include:

  • Suspending all “House Calls” visits
  • Suspending all “Book-A-Librarian” and “Book-A-Historian” appointments
  • Cancelling all library programming (we hope to publish some of the programs online via YouTube and Facebook live, please check in with us on Facebook about virtual programming)
  • Suspending all Outreach programming
  • Canceling all room reservations, and suspending room requests
  • No volunteers will be scheduled to work at the library during this time

This plan may change due to further developments related to the virus in Pickens County or recommendations made by local and/or national health and safety organizations.
