The Library’s Online Databases are a collection of subscription databases provided by the Pickens County Library System and the State Library’s Discus Project. You can access the databases for free from the Library or from home. To utilize any of these services, you simply need to provide your library card number and PIN.

Britannica Library includes three online encyclopedias for students and adults: Encyclopaedia Britannica (advanced-level content for older students and adults), Elementary Encyclopedia (introductory -level content for students 6-10 yrs), and Compton’s Encyclopedia. Education Full Text is a research database for education students, professionals and policymakers. It includes full-text education journals that cover the essentials of education and related fields of study, including in-depth coverage of special education. This database provided by State Library.

MasterFile is a general interest database for public libraries. It includes full-text magazines, newspapers, reference books and encyclopedias covering a variety of topics, including health, education, technology and business. This database provided by State Library.

Opposing Viewpoints In Context is an engaging online experience for those seeking contextual information and opinions on hundreds of today’s hottest social issues. Topic Search is a database of current events database of popular topics, including controversial opinions and viewpoints for middle school students through adults.  Full text articles from 475 diverse sources including international and regional newspapers, periodicals, biographies, public opinion polls, book reviews, pamphlets, and government information.
