Kate has written and/ or illustrated over 25 books for children and adults. Simon and Schuster published her first book for children, A Gracious Plenty, in 1991. Kate and husband, Jim started Warbranch Press in 1993, and have since published 18 books for children – 4 about SC history. Her books are used by teachers and media specialists all over the state.
